The tree anchor with release system – flexible, simple and gentle on your tensioning system.
Advantages over round slings
- Simpler setup: the anchor webbing is threaded close to the tree and cannot fall down
- Flexible in length: suitable for thin to very thick anchor points up to 1.2 m diameter
- Gentle on your tensioning system: the tension is not released via the ratchet or pulley, but slowly through the release webbing
Why a release system?
When you derig, the full tension is still in the system. Releasing it through the ratchet makes it jerk, and that is exactly when most gear damage and injuries happen. With the release webbing you let the tension off in a controlled way, centimetre by centimetre. That is more relaxed, safer and extends the life of your gear.
The second advantage shows on thick trees: a round sling has to match the tree size, the anchor webbing does not. You simply wrap it around the trunk as often as its length allows.
Technical data
- Total breaking strength: up to 6 t (webbing wrapped 3x around the anchor point)
- Breaking strength webbing: 2.2 t
- Breaking strength linelocker hook: 3 t
- Webbing width: 25 mm, black, soft to the touch
Included: 15 m or 20 m anchor webbing + 1x linelocker hook for 25/35 mm webbing
Hook or shackle?
This version has the linelocker hook, so you thread your webbing in directly. If your webbing has a sewn loop, the tree anchor with twisted shackle is the quicker solution.
